Cause And Effect

I stopped using plastic water bottles 7 months ago.

I use a thermos now.

Aren’t I sweet?

That’s 5 fewer water bottles a week.

That’s 140 fewer water bottles in the past 7 months.

1 water bottle weighs about 1 pound.

That’s 140 fewer pounds:

Being made,

Being transported,

Being bought.

Now minus the weight that’s drank, it’s only a few ounces left:

Being disposed,

Being transported,

Being disposed again

To in a hole in the ground,

Or to sink to the bottom of the sea.

140 fewer pounds at the bottom of the sea.

Of course the bottles are all empty by then –

Or they would be if they weren’t swelled with sea.

I stopped using plastic water bottles 7 months ago.

I use a thermos now.

Multiply by several billion.
