What do you do when your best isn’t enough?
Do you forge on against all reason and hope?
Do you fight and battle, and try to stay tough?
Even when you feel you can no longer cope.
Do you wonder if there was more you could do?
And think, if only, you could change past events?
And wish, if only, you could share what you knew?
The truth in your heart that you’ve tried to present.
Or do you accept this fate you can’t control?
And realize you’ve lost; that all hope is now dead?
Can you admit these facts to your shattered soul?
Or does your heart deny this sad truth instead?
At-least, take some solace, if you’ve tried your best,
Cause your heart beats true; if alone in your chest.
